Corporate Overview

The Defence Industries Association of Nigeria (DIAN) is a non-partisan, unbiased association of indigenous private and public sector defence manufacturing organisations in Nigeria set up to meet the objectives of the Military Industrial Complex (MICs) via producing defence articles needed by the Nigerian armed forces and other security agencies in the country.

DIAN is duly registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission of Nigeria under the Companies and Allied Matters Act, 2020 with RC 6900855. The Association is governed by the board of Trustees, ably led by the Chairman (DG -DICON), inclusive of a representative from Ministry of Defence. The Association currently has 30 members which is still increasing.

Some statutory operations of the association are spelt out in the recent DICON Act of 2023 assented by the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria -President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCON).

Message from the Chairman

As Chairman of the Defence Industries Association of Nigeria, I’m thrilled to showcase our indigenous defence products crafted by passionate producers from Nigeria’s public and private sectors. Despite economic fluctuations, recent reforms spearheaded by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu have revitalized our defense industry, notably through the new DICON bill of 2023.

While our primary focus remains equipping the Nigerian Armed Forces and security agencies, we recognize the importance of supporting regional demands and global market preferences while bolstering local capacity. We extend our gratitude to President Tinubu for his leadership, the House of Assembly for swift legislative action on necessary legislation, indigenous producers for their dedication, and partners worldwide for their contributions.

We believe that collaboration transcends borders, essential for production and crafting safer, better futures.
